Our penultimate Island LIVE party for the series takes place on Friday 10th February as we welcome Norman Jay MBE - one of the most significant and influential artists to the global music community for a special 2-hour set. Inspiring generations of artists Norman Jay is unquestionably one of the most respected DJs in the world today.
Co-founder of the legendary Good Times Sound System and renowned London dance music station KISS FM, Norman Jay helped birth the ‘Rare Groove’ movement, pushing the boundaries of the UK’s club culture. Packing clubs wherever he played Jay became one of the most popular DJs in the world, bringing the underground sounds of rare groove and house straight into the mainstream. After being awarded an MBE for services to DJing and music he compiled his most eclectic compilation to date, ‘Good Times Skank & Boogie’ taking his legendary Good Times party to selected venues across the UK. His world famous Notting Hill Carnival parties remain the stuff of legend, and it’s our sincerest honour and privilege to host one of the all-time greats at The Island LIVE.
To accompany the master, we have three of Sydney’s funkiest selectors of house, disco, soul and boogie in the shape of Soul of Sydney DJs, Mike Who and Andy Garvey.
